That deep, sharp, or radiating pain down the leg can make even simple movements feel overwhelming. Sciatica often shows up when the body is stuck in a pattern of tension — especially through the low back, hips, and glutes — and the nerves don’t have the space they need to move comfortably.

Why sciatica happens

Sciatica isn’t usually about one single muscle. It’s often a mix of:

  • Tightness through the hips or glutes
  • Low‑back tension from sitting or standing for long periods
  • The body bracing or guarding without you realizing it
  • Old movement habits that keep certain areas overworking
  • Stress that settles into the lower body

When these layers build up, the nerve can feel irritated or compressed — which is why the pain can travel down the leg.

How my sessions help

My approach focuses on helping your body soften the patterns that keep the nerve feeling irritated. During a session, I work slowly and intentionally through the hips, low back, and glutes to help release the tension that contributes to sciatic discomfort.

Clients often notice:

  • More ease when walking or standing
  • Less pulling or radiating pain
  • Better mobility through the hips
  • A sense of relief instead of constant guarding

The goal is to help your body unwind the tension so the nerve can move more freely again.
